The way to read the schedule is as follows:

  • Look at the roster to see which team number you are. Then look down the left axis of the grid and locate your schedule. Each month will have a team number along the horizontal axis. That is your opponent for the month.
  • The Host (H) designates the host team and the (A) designates the travel team.

Example:

In April, team #1 is playing team #2. Team #2 has an H next to its number and is therefore hosting the match. They are responsible for calling team #1 to set the match and arranging the time and which host club the will play. This continues for the balance of the year.

  • The Host team determines either before or after talking to their opponent, which of their 2 clubs will be the site of the match. If, however, everyone wants to play a different club and all are agreeable, the site of the match can be changed.
  • The Host Team of the match is responsible for coordinating the match with the other team.
  • The match is played and team scores are promptly sent to Mike Kirk for purposes of scoring the year long tournament. We are using GAP Match Play rules – you will need to provide the front 9, back 9 and overall scores (please call Mike Kirk if you have any questions on scoring). The team with the most points at the end of the year wins their division. The three division winners and one Wildcard Team will then play for the championship. The team with the most points will be the home team.

Team with most points plays the wildcard and the #2 team plays the #3 team. The final match will be played the first day of the year end event at Stonewall in October.

  • As we are all very busy, we try to set aside 1 day a month, in advance, to leave open for our matches. It was decided that the second Tuesday of each month is best. You do not need to have your match that day but for those of us who can set our own schedule this is helpful for planning purposes.

Please leave these dates open. If you have a conflict notify your match for that month as far in advance as possible and schedule an alternative date. If you know that you have a work problem and it will be a challenge to schedule a match, be proactive and call early. The above schedule is only a guideline to make life easy for everyone. You can play your matches whenever you want – get them in by July if you want – JUST GET THEM IN! When you schedule your matches is up to you and your opponent. Weekends, evenings, whenever.

  • Failure to play your match by the 15 th day of the month following its scheduled time will result in a forfeit for both teams. However, if either team can demonstrate to the commissioner (Peter Henson) that they made a good faith effort to schedule the match then the other team will forfeit the match and all points will be awarded to the that team.

I can not stress enough how important it is for the integrity of the league that EVERYONE do their best to get the matches in.

Review the schedule NOW. If you have any questions, call NOW.

Each person is responsible for their own greens fees. Many pay directly by charging to your home club when you arrive for your match. It is the responsibility of the guest to insure that greens fees are taken care for your match.

My advice is to arrange the schedule well in advance to avoid conflicts down the road.

HANDICAPS: Please have all GHIN cards with you the day of the match. Our league is a program of honesty as well, but it is best to avoid misunderstandings by having your card with you. Make sure it is current.

Welcome again to our new members. We have a great selection of clubs to play.

Best Regards,
Peter Henson
